A structured programme that introduces an element of fun into karate training.

Unlike adults, the attention span and learning capabities of children are some what challenging. Their memory recall and way in which they absorb information is different from adults, actions need to be simplified and their attention needs to be captivated.
Our Samurai Sam programme enables us to captivate and teach children karate in a fun, safe and rewarding environment. They develop flexibility, endurance, co-ordination, balance, motor skills and spacel awareness. It instills confidence, provides them with self esteem, they learn respect self defence and improves their physical development.
Children start from the age of 4 years old. If they do not understand what is taught, we encourage children to ask their instructor who will give them encouragement and correct them.
The Samurai Sam white and red suits are available from the club instructor or from www.blitzsport.com. Kids love dressing up and by adding a bit of colour into a traditional suit, they try harder and engage more. The black suits are not used at the I.S.K however across the country we find other clubs have adapted their martial art to the Samurai Sam way of training.
Every now and again we award children for their efforts. They receive a badge for the best technique or a certificate from their instructor highlighting particular achievements.
All of our instructors are CRB checked, attend regular First Aid courses and teaching courses run by the Chief Instructor Lee Bindra 7th dan. Sensei Lee has been teaching children for the past 40 years from the time karate was first introduced into the U.K. right up to the current day, where the practice of teaching children has remained just as important as it was way back then.
Our instructors are also encouraged to train regularly, which ensures the standard of all of our children remains high. They are dedicated instructors, many are mothers and fathers themselves and understand the importance karate training would give a child, not only for mental development but anatomical ones too.
